Add your address once. Every morning we tell you if the sweeper is coming to your side of the street, when to move your car, and what goes to the curb tonight.
Every NYC driver knows the feeling: you walk out in the morning and there's a $65 orange envelope under the wiper because it was Tuesday, not Wednesday. Alternate side parking tickets and sanitation tickets are some of the most common fines in the city, and almost all of them come from forgetting the day. So we built free reminders that tell you, for your exact block, when to move your car and when to put the trash out.
NYC DOT keeps a public database of every parking sign in the city, including each street-cleaning sign with the red broom symbol, its days and hours, the side of the street, and its exact location. When you add an address, we look up the broom signs on your block, find which side your building is on, and read the rules for both sides. You see it on your building page as a street drawing: each curb lane colored green, amber or red for the day you pick, next to a copy of the actual sign.
| When | What you get |
|---|---|
| Every morning, 8 AM | "Street sweeper today 8:30โ10 AM on your side, move your car", or tomorrow's window so you can park on the right side tonight. Plus anything new from HPD, DOB, OATH and 311 on your buildings. |
| The evening before pickup, 6 PM | "Black bag night" or "Recycling night": what goes to the curb, how to set it out for your building size, and whether the sweeper comes tomorrow. |
| Holidays | "Alternate side parking is suspended today, no need to move your car" on DOT suspension days. |
One email covers all your buildings. Landlords and property managers with several addresses get every block's sweeper times and pickup nights in one place, so you can forward it to supers and tenants instead of fielding "is it street cleaning today?" texts.
Yes. NYC Violation Search emails free street-cleaning reminders for your exact block: the 8 AM email shows that day's sweeper window for your side of the street and tomorrow's, and notes DOT holiday suspensions.
We match your address to the closest street-cleaning signs in NYC DOT's sign database and show both sides of your block. Always double-check the sign in front of your building the first time.
Yes. The reminders use DOT's official 2026 suspension calendar, so legal and religious holidays show as suspended. Snow and emergency suspensions are announced on short notice, so check 311 before a storm.
Yes. The same account sends a 6 PM email the night before your DSNY trash, recycling or compost pickup, with set-out rules for your building size.
Free for up to 5 buildings: parking and garbage reminders, the daily building report and violation alerts. Each building after that is $10/month.
Street-cleaning rules come from NYC DOT signs and pickup days from DSNY. Rules can change and signs can differ from the database, so the sign on your block always wins.
